X-ING

A choreographic event in response to pedestrian and traffic safety in Newburgh, NY.

X-ING responds to a developing urban area; elevates dialogue between community members and with municipality and state agencies; aspires to offer insights on present & future approaches to infrastructure, residential safety, and urban planning of pedestrian walkways and enforcement of traffic laws. On September 28th 2019, X-ING invited the community to witness responses to a group of local performers sharing a series of short, athletic, dance and vocally performed passages from the one side of the street to the other during the designated pedestrian crossing times.
